Brian Cook: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Interview with Brian Cook (4) | | | | | Sunil | | How are your sales are going? | | | | Brian | | In the 5 months or so that I have been selling e-books, the number of monthly sales has been roughly the same as when I sold only printed versions. Now, though, my costs are lower and profits higher. I expect my profits to continue rising as I become more knowledgeable at using keyword bidding services and also begin selling additional e-books on different topics. | | | | | | Sunil | | How have you priced your e-book? | | | | Brian | | I currently sell The Songwriter's Guide to Demo Submission in e-book format for $19.95. However, I am now doing some informal price testing and may be raising the price in the near future. | | | | | | Sunil | | How do you have your sales site set up? | | | | Brian | | I originally set up my e-books to be purchased and THEN downloaded from my web site using ClickBank†.
However, I now offer a free trial download which permits customers to get a feel for the look of the book, review the table of contents, see an alphabetical listing of music publishers, and so on. Then, if they wish to purchase the "unlock" key, they go through ClickBank† to get a password from me.
I'm not sure this new way of doing things has generated more sales, but it has made my life easier. Now I don't have anybody purchase the e-Book and then be unable to figure out how to download it, or discover that they need to be using Windows. I also get very few returns this way. | | | | | Next > >
