Michael Southon: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Interview with Michael Southon (4) | | | | | Sunil | | So was writing an E-Book was a natural extension of your Ezine marketing technique? | | | | Michael | | Quite a few of my Articles were on the subject of how to write Ezine Articles and how to get them published. I got so much positive feedback from readers about those Articles that I decided to write an E-Book about it. | | | | | | Sunil | | What triggered your original interest in E-Books? | | | | Michael | | I was hearing a lot about viral marketing. I got quite excited by the potential for free E-Books to spread across the Web very rapidly. The theory is that they spread exponentially - 10 people download your E-Book and place it on their web site, and they each get 10 downloads so it's now being offered on 100 web sites, and so on.
So I created my first E-Book - 'EzyAds' - and started giving it away. I had a message on the index page of 'EzyAds' that asked people to contact me first and tell me their URL before giving 'EzyAds' away. This was really so that I would have some idea of how fast 'EzyAds' was spreading. | | | | | | Sunil | | Which E-Book compiler did you use? | | | | Michael | | I started off using JanSoft's 'SBook' compiler (a free software) but quickly ran up against some limitations (e.g. the compression rate was very low). Then I saw a recommendation for Activ E-Book Compiler on Eva Almeida's site (ebooksnbytes.com). I tried the free version and liked it and then upgraded to the full version. | | | | | Next > >
